An Official StreetSafaritm Event

About C2C

Following the incredible success of both Staples2Naples, Home2Rome and the fact that we conquered the Czech Republic with CzechWrecks. We have decided to add another date to the Banger Rally Season.

Since this is our most strenuous event the format is very slightly different from our other banger events. Instead of the usual 4 days starting on a Friday, C2C is 6 days starting on a Saturday. This allows teams to get into Casablanca on the Thursday, and then an extra couple of days getting back to the UK. If you are going to North Africa, you might as well have a day or two there! Or maybe one will be enough!

The journey through France and Spain will take in the exquisite Millau Viaduct, the tallest roadbridge in the world and mountain roads in the beautiful Pyrenees.

An extra day of Spain takes in the heart of the Sierra Nevada.

The finishing will be somewhere near -- surprise, surprise -- Casablanca.

Event number five...

The StreetSafari team currently runs Staples2Naples, Home2Rome, CzechWrecks in Europe, as well as the infamous BABE Rally in the United States.

Unlike the other famous banger rally that goes to Africa, we are possibly more colourful, and we are a bit of a rolling party. Plus the likelihood of getting killed is less, and you just know if you die on an event the wife will never forgive you.

Calais2Casablanca is undoubtedly StreetSafari's most challenging event. The distance is greater, the time required is longer, and Morocco is... well, Morocco itself is a challenge all its own.

It's worth noting that Morocco is an Islamic country and so we do need to be aware and respectful of their ways and traditions. Unlike our other events, this one will have a few more guidelines and requirements, the most important being that cars that enter Morocco must also leave the country as well.

Let's just say that the Czech border crossing pales in comparison to the Morocco frontier.

All levity aside, however, in our experience, and over many trips to the country, we have found the people, the geography, and the culture a friendly and fascinating experience.

How many countries?

C2C takes in four countries, excluding the principality of Andorra. Andorra is a great stop after a vigorous mountain climb. It's a really cool shopping mecca, among other things. And you know how we go all out for cool.

As we are currently reorganising the days and length of this event, routes are subject to change. (This, of course, is true of all routes and events, anyway!)

We regularly recce, drive, and re-drive various routes during different times of the year to find and test even more fabulous roads to mix and match into the event schedule.

We have, after all, had to accomodate floods, snows, yodeling festivals, a hurricane, and getting refused entry to a country between the five - count 'em, five - events. But as in the past, we roll on regardless.

Onward and upward!

Whats the Prize?

The Team that manages to acquire the most points over 6 days of hard driving and off-the-wall challenges will get £1000 in cash.

The second place team will win £350 and the third place team will win £150.

However, you must make it to the end, with all team members and the banger that you started in!

We are also giving away several awards to Teams who we feel have earned it. These will be decided throughout the year, however, the current list is:

Biggest Pile Of Rubbish
Longest Team to Hitchhike
Best Bodge

As always, other awards are always being dreamt up, and all non-points awards are subject to exclusion without an award-worthy entrant.
